Spatial interface research lab Project

Where the Saltwater Meets the Land

Developed as a collection of 3D models and 3D virtual environments for visualizing and mitigating the impacts of sea level change on the Heiltsuk Nation.

THE PROJECT

“Where the Saltwater Meets the Land” is a first-of-its-kind 3D visualization tool – developed to provide interactive viewing of select Heiltsuk Nation regions, cultural assets, citizen commentary, and coastal vulnerability analyses.

The collection of work presented here represents the 3D modelling and visualization elements of the 3D visualization tool – allowing the Heiltsuk Nation to explore sea level futures and their impact on the region, the community, and their cultural landmarks.
